Education
C&V has a long history of working with education clients to get their agenda before state and city policy makers. For more than a decade we’ve worked with the College Board in their efforts to help more students, particularly those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds go to college and graduate with a degree. At the State level we were able to backfill cuts made by the federal government which helped lower income students pay for their Advanced Placement (AP) exams. NYS now provides $5.3 million in grants to schools to cover these costs. We also created a grant program that helps school districts without AP offerings to create new AP programs. In NYC, they adopted the AP for All agenda which helped NYC schools expand AP opportunities in schools across the city that had no AP or very few offerings.
Our special education clients serve some of the city’s neediest students and we work with these schools to ensure that they receive the funding they need to continue their services to these special students.
We work closely with the State Education Department, the Governor’s Office, the state legislature, the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York and the NYC Public Schools to advance the agenda of our clients.
