About Our Internship Program

  • The Constantinople & Vallone Consulting Internship Program offers hands-on experience at a boutique government relations and strategic consulting firm with a strong track record in navigating New York’s political and policy landscape. Interns work closely with our team to support active projects, gaining exposure to legislative, executive, regulatory, and administrative processes. At C&V, we believe success comes from collaboration, trusted relationships, and a meaningful understanding of how government works. This program offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that shape public policy and support communities across the city and state.

  • By the end of the internship, participants will:

    • Gain practical knowledge of New York City’s government relations and legislative processes.

    • Develop skills in policy research, legislative tracking, and stakeholder engagement.

    • Build a working knowledge of city, state, and federal government processes.

    • Enhance research, writing, and advocacy skills.

    • Gain direct insight into client relations and strategic planning.

    • Develop an understanding of ethical, relationship-centered advocacy and how it operates at the crossroads of public and private interests.

    • Interns are asked to commit a maximum of 24 hours per week. Schedules are flexible based on academic commitments.

    • The program is open to current undergraduate, graduate, or law students, and recent graduates. Students in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Urban Planning, Communications, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience through coursework, internships, or volunteer work is preferred.

"Participating in C&V’s Internship program was an enriching experience.

I was actively involved in meaningful work, including creating summaries and analyses of proposed and adopted New York City and State legislation for clients and identifying funding and contracting opportunities at the city, state, and federal level for clients. The program also provided an incredible opportunity to connect with a network of talented individuals, many of whom I am thankful to call friends today. C&V has clients in all types of practice areas and allowed me to work on clients in areas that I was interested in. I recommend this internship program to anyone who has an interest in state and local government.”

Rachel J. Roberts, Esq.

Law Clerk for the Honorable Justine A. Niccollai, J.S.C.

“Interning at C&V was one of the best experiences of my professional journey. I joined C&V new to the world of legislation and policy and was met with kindness, expertise, and a team eager to teach everything there is to know about government affairs and relations.

I was fortunate to work on projects spanning a variety of sectors, gaining insight into some of the most critical issues facing our city and state. I’ve come away with a deeper understanding of government, lasting relationships and friendships, and the confidence that will support me in my legal career."

Shelby Luria

J.D. Incoming Assistant District Attorney at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office

“Interning at Constantinople & Vallone was one of those rare experiences where you not only learn a ton, but you actually feel like you’re part of something. The team felt like a tight-knit group where everyone looked out for each other and genuinely wanted me to grow. From the start, I felt welcomed, trusted, and encouraged to ask questions, take initiative, and really absorb how things worked, both inside City Hall and out.

What I appreciated most was how much I got to see behind the curtain. Whether it was tracking legislation, attending meetings, or helping with client work, I walked away with a real-world understanding of how politics, government, and advocacy all intersect. It wasn’t just abstract or theoretical, it was active, fast-paced, and hands-on.

Now that I work in City Council, I constantly find myself drawing on what I learned at C&V. That experience gave me a foundation, not just in the technical side of government, but in understanding the personalities, the politics, and the processes. It helped shape how I move through this industry today, and I’m grateful for that. If you're serious about public service or government work in NYC, this is the kind of place that sets you up for success.”
